We are delighted to introduce Dr. Abdurahman Hejazi, a leader who brings a unique and valuable perspective to our community. With decades of experience in Islamic education and counseling across North America, Dr. Hejazi is deeply rooted in traditional Islamic scholarship while being profoundly connected to the realities of modern life.
His commitment is reflected in his core principles: actively engaging our community, nurturing our youth, and empowering women. Adding to this, his background includes a PhD in Computer Science, bringing a unique blend of spiritual wisdom and professional leadership.

Imam Farooqui brings a lifetime of dedicated scholarship and a passion for teaching the Holy Qur’an to our community.
Education & Scholarly Foundation
Imam Farooqui built his strong foundation in Islamic scholarship at the prestigious Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama in India, where he:
- Completed Hifzul-Qur’an (Memorization of the Qur’an) in 1987.
- Graduated with honors from the Aalim Studies program in 1994.
A Career Dedicated to the Qur’an
With over 25 years of experience, Imam Farooqui has devoted his life to teaching and spiritual leadership:
- He began his journey as a Qur’an teacher in India in 1996.
- He brought his expertise to the United States in 2001, serving for five years as an Imam and Hifz Teacher in Harrisburg, PA.
- He has been a pillar of the Texas Muslim community since 2006, guiding students as a full-time Qur’an teacher.
- By the grace of Allah (SWT), more than 18 students have successfully memorized the entire Qur’an under his tutelage.
Current Roles & Service
Imam Farooqui continues to serve our community through multiple roles:
- Full-time Hifzul-Qur’an Teacher at Masjid Bilal.
- Resident Imam & Evening Qur’an Teacher at Masjid AlSalaam.
